Learn seabird identification at the Avalon Seawatch with CMBO naturalists.

CMBO interpretive naturalists lead a free outdoor mini-workshop at the Avalon Seawatch, focusing on migrating scoters, sea ducks, loons, cormorants, gannets and other seabirds. No pre-registration is required.

Meet on the beach between 8th and 9th streets at Avalon's north end. Bring binoculars and, if you have one, a spotting scope and tripod. Dress in layers for exposed coastal conditions. This is an outdoor opportunity to practice identifying birds during their migration; admission is free and advance registration is not required.
